### What is in this list

Two research passes, kept separate in the data and merged only for display. The first confirmed 72 companies against a live, linkable page — almost always the company's own site — that explicitly names auto liability, general/commercial liability or property claims administration for insurers, self-insured entities or public risk pools. A handful, including Sedgwick and Gallagher Bassett, were confirmed on more than one of those lines and appear once with every confirmed line named, not once per line. Company names alone, prior knowledge, or a general 'we handle claims' page were not enough on their own; each row's fields cite the specific page.

The second pass went back through the state life-and-health TPA licence registers that already source the workers' comp TPA list on this hub — the same North Carolina, South Dakota, Iowa, Massachusetts, California, New York, Washington and New Jersey rosters — and pulled out every company licensed there as a 'Life and health third-party administrator.' That licence class covers self-funded health and benefits plans, not workers' comp, so the 614 companies carrying only that licence were removed from the workers' comp list and given their own line on this one.

A company licensed in more than one state shows how many rather than picking one, for the same reason it does on the workers' comp list: a state filter that answered 'California' for a company also licensed in nine other states would be wrong. State licence rosters are point-in-time documents; nothing here claims a licence is still active beyond the date it was read.

### Why record review reaches TPAs

An auto liability, general liability, property or self-funded health claim file is the same problem regardless of the line: treatment notes, adjuster logs, correspondence and billing, arriving out of order and often duplicated.
