Reading the table

Pricing shape. InPractice AI is pay-as-you-go credits with no subscription, at $0.05 a page, in 4 editions from $100 to $5,000. MediScan is a monthly subscription with pages included. On our arithmetic, a fully used Starter plan works out to about $0.14 a page ($169 ÷ 1,200) and a fully used Pro plan to about $0.13 ($445 ÷ 3,500), before overage. A subscription costs less per page the more of it you use, so a low-volume month lands higher.

Human QA. MediScan says it uses no unseen reviewers and that a physician retains oversight. InPractice AI describes 100% AI output that a person can edit and discloses no human QA step.

Speed claims. InPractice AI says about 3 seconds a page. MediScan says under 15 minutes for 1,000+ pages. Both are vendor claims. This page did not time either tool.

What neither says. Neither vendor publishes which record types it reads or whether each line cites its source page. If either matters to you, ask for it in writing before a trial.

How this comparison was built

Medrecords AI wrote this page and sells a competing product, so it is not a neutral judge of InPractice AI or MediScan. These are the rules it follows, so you can check the work.

  1. Both vendors are compared on the same 7 fields: what it reads, processing model, human QA, turnaround, pricing model, indicative cost and citations.
  2. Every vendor fact comes only from that vendor’s own published pages, listed under Sources with the date each was read. Where a field is not published, the table says so instead of guessing.
  3. Numbers marked as our arithmetic are division on published prices, shown with the inputs. Nothing on this page is a measured result.
  4. This is not a benchmark. We have not run the same records through either tool, so the page makes no accuracy or speed claim of its own.
