We assemble and cite what the records document. We do not interview or observe anyone, administer or score any instrument, assess parenting capacity, or recommend a custody or parenting-time arrangement. Those belong to the evaluator and to the court.
Roughly a third of a custody file is medical and the rest is agency, school and correspondence. All of it is read. A CPS referral that was screened out still shows as a cited entry, because the evaluator needs to know it exists, not to be told what it means.
