What is in this list
A funder appears here because a public source recorded it, not because it bought a placement. Commercial funders back single cases and portfolios for law firms and companies. Consumer funders, also called pre-settlement funders, advance money against an individual claimant's expected recovery. A handful do both, and the segment column says which.
Two states licence this business and publish the roster: Oklahoma and Nebraska. Everywhere else a funder's standing is a private matter. Nothing on this page is a licence, an endorsement, or a comment on any funder's terms.
Why record review reaches funders
A funder underwrites on the same paperwork the case runs on. Before money moves, somebody reads the treatment history, dates the injury against the records and decides whether the damages narrative survives contact with the chart. That read happens before a case is worth anything to anybody, which is why it is usually done fast and under-resourced.
Medrecords AI produces the chronology and the cited summary that read is based on. Every line carries a page citation back to the source document, so the underwriter checks the record rather than trusting a summary. The judgement stays with the funder.
