Its published fit: Plaintiff attorneys, defense attorneys, legal nurse consultants, insurance carriers, claims professionals and medical-legal support staff. HOW TO READ THE TABLE

4 questions that decide this, and one that does not

Feature lists in this market converge within a quarter. What separates these tools is commercial and procedural, and most of it is visible before you take a call.

  • Who signsSome tools produce a draft your own reviewer signs off. Others include reviewers of their own. Neither is better; they are different liabilities and different price points.
  • What the meter countsPer page, per file, per user, per credit or per year. A seat licence and a per-page rate diverge fast once 1 file gets large.
  • Whether output is checkableA summary you cannot trace back to a page is a summary you have to re-read the file to trust. Ask what a citation points at.
  • Where the records goWhose cloud, whose BAA, whose keys. This is the question procurement asks and the 1 vendor sites answer least often.
  • Not: the modelWhich foundation model sits underneath changes quarterly and tells you nothing about whether the output holds up on a file like yours.

Where Medrecords AI fits, and where it does not

The row above is ours, held to the same 8 questions. So is this.

What it does

Reads the file you already have: PDFs, scans, handwriting, the DICOM imaging rather than only the radiologist's report. Removes duplicates, flags wrong-patient pages, builds the chronology, and links every line back to the page it came from.

What it costs

10 cents a page on Self-Service, duplicates free, no seat licence and no subscription. Enterprise On-Prem is an annual licence. Both are listed on the pricing page, in numbers, without a call.

What it will not do

It does not retrieve records from providers, sign an opinion, score a case, or decide a claim. It drafts and cites; you review, you revise, you sign. Any vendor promising otherwise is describing a liability, not a feature.

MedLegal AI alternatives: common questions

By section and category, Medical Legal Spider, Inc. and CorMetrix (VerixAi) are the nearest of the 9: all sit in the same software half of the Content Hub. The table compares each on the same 8 published rows, and the published-rate column is usually where they separate.

Yes: Pro $49/month (1 user, fair use 5,000 pages/month); Professional $249/month (up to 5 users); Firm $499/month (unlimited users, priority support); $19 per case; Physician Records Review $1,400 per civil case or $1,000 per workers' compensation case; Courtroom AI add-on $99 to $299/month. That already puts it ahead of most of this market; only 58 of the 327 profiled vendors publish an indicative cost. Of the 9 alternatives here, zero publish a number of their own.

Its published turnaround: Case analysis and demand letters in under 60 seconds, opinion letters in seconds (homepage claims). Physician Records Review turnaround not stated. Hold every vendor in the table to the same question, because a vendor that will not put a number on speed is quoting it case by case.

For the record-review work, yes. Medrecords AI reads PDFs, scans, handwriting and DICOM imaging, links every line back to its source page, and prices in public: 10 cents a page on Self-Service, falling to 5 at volume, duplicates free. A human stays the decision-maker.

Each row is read out of that vendor's Content Hub profile, which cites the public page every value came from. Where a vendor publishes nothing for a row, the table says "Not published" rather than guessing; the profile records the search that came up empty.

How this list was built

Medrecords AI wrote this page and sells 1 of the tools in the table, so it is a party to the comparison, not a neutral judge. These are the rules it follows, so you can check the work.

  1. Which tools are listed: the 9 vendors nearest MedLegal AI in our Content Hub, from the same half (software or services) and the same category first. Where that category is small, the rest come from the same half, so a few rows sit further from MedLegal AI’s use case than others.
  2. What each row shows: what the vendor publishes about itself, read from its own pages on the date listed under Sources. “Not published” means we searched the vendor’s site and found no figure; we do not estimate one.
  3. The table order is not a ranking, and no row is a score. We have not run the same records through any of these tools, so this page makes no accuracy claim about any of them.
  4. The Medrecords AI row comes from our public pricing page and product pages, held to the same fields as everyone else.

Vendor facts on this page were last read on 8 Oct 2026. If a figure about MedLegal AI or any other vendor is out of date or wrong, email [email protected] with the page that shows it and the row gets corrected. Our editorial policy covers how every comparison on this site is made.
