Confirm the case details, key date and focus in Medrecords AI

After Medrecords AI reads your records, it stops and asks you to confirm what the case is about. You check the focus, the key date and the body parts it found. You can also choose a report. Processing waits until you press the confirm button, so a wrong guess never runs through the whole case.

When the step appears

When the first read of your records is done, the case status changes to Needs confirming. The Confirm case details window opens on its own.

If you closed it, you can open it again in 2 places:

  • The banner at the top of the case says "Awaiting your confirmation." Press Confirm case.
  • The case overview shows a card called Confirm the case details. Press Review and confirm.

What you check

The window shows what the app found, with a citation next to each item. Click any citation to see the page it came from.

Key dateThe date the case turns onPick the main date, add more dates, add a note to each

Some labels change with the case type. The key date is "Date of Injury" for personal injury and "Date of Admission" for nursing home cases. For Social Security disability it is "Alleged Onset Date (AOD)". The focus is called "Allegation Focus" or "Claimed Conditions" on some case types. See choose the right case type for the full list of case types.

How to confirm

  1. Read the case summary and fix anything wrong.
  2. Check the focus. Remove items that are not part of the claim.
  3. Check the key date. If the app found more than 1 date, press Make primary on the right one. Use Add date for dates it missed, such as a second surgery.
  4. Decide on the report. Tick Also generate a medical report to write one now. Leave it off to write one later in the Report studio.
  5. Press Confirm and continue. If a report is on, the button reads Confirm and generate and shows the credits.

You must keep at least 1 focus item, 1 body part or a main key date. The app will not confirm an empty case.

What it costs

Confirming with the report box off costs nothing. With the report box on, confirming costs 50 credits. If the confirmation cannot be saved, those credits come back to you. You can write the report later in the Report studio instead. The window shows the cost there too.

What happens next

The case moves back to processing. The app now reviews every record against the focus and key date you confirmed. 2 rows appear on the case timeline: "Case Confirmation" and "Reviewing Records Against Case Focus".

If you press Later, nothing is lost. The case simply waits until you come back and confirm.

What you cannot change later

Check this step with care. After you confirm, you cannot edit the focus, the key dates or the body parts. You can still rename the case and change its description.

There is 1 exception. When you add records to a finished case, the confirm window opens again. Your earlier answers are kept, and new items show a "new" badge. You can update your answers then.

If you see an error

  • "This case is not awaiting confirmation." The case was already confirmed. Reload the page.
  • "This case is still processing and cannot be confirmed yet." Wait. The window opens on its own when the case is ready.
