Review mass tort and product liability files in Medrecords AI
To review a mass tort file in Medrecords AI, pick the Mass Tort & Product Liability case type and make 1 case for each claimant. You record the product, the exposure period and the MDL docket. The app then builds a cited chronology. It quotes product names and lot numbers exactly as the records print them.

What a mass tort file has to show
Most product cases turn on the same 4 questions. The app helps you find the pages for each one. You and your expert decide what they mean.
| Question | Where the answer usually sits |
|---|---|
| Which product, exactly? | Pharmacy records, prescriptions, implant records |
| When did use start and stop? | The first and last record of use |
| What injury is claimed, and when was it found? | Diagnosis notes, imaging, surgery reports |
| What else could explain it? | Prior history, other drugs, other conditions |
When you ask questions about a mass tort case, the app treats the product as the first fact to prove. It quotes identifiers word for word. It reports other documented causes as readily as facts that support the claim. It never says the product caused the harm.
1 claimant per case
Each case holds 1 claimant. There is no batch upload, no bulk case creation and no support for a plaintiff fact sheet or a census. For an inventory of claimants, make 1 case per claimant. Then use the same report template on each case, so every claimant's report has the same layout.
The playbook, step by step
- Set up the case: case type, product, exposure period and MDL docket.
- Find proof of use: pharmacy, prescription, injection and implant records.
- Find missing providers with the fact sheet uploaded as a record.
- Check the timing and other causes with the chronology, search and Q&A.
- Pick the reports for each claimant.
- Read the worked example on a fictional implant claimant.
- Read the mass tort questions and answers.
What the app does for you
- Reads every page and builds a dated chronology. Click an event to see the source page.
- Lists records that other records mention but that are not in the file.
- Answers your questions with numbered page citations.
- Writes reports such as a Record Review, a Causation Analysis and a Damages Summary.
What it does not do
- It does not make 1 case hold many claimants.
- It does not read a fact sheet as a form. You can upload it as a record and read it like any other page.
- It does not decide causation. It shows what the records say, with the page.

Medrecords AI organizes and cites the records. Its output is not a medical or legal opinion and does not replace your expert.
