Work through the missing records list in Medrecords AI
Medrecords AI lists the records that your own documents mention but that are not in the file. A lab result that was ordered but never arrived is a common example. You can mark each one as located or dismissed, draft a request to the provider, and export the list to Excel. It costs no credits.

How the list is built
The app reads every record in the case. When a record refers to another record, such as an MRI order or a consult, it looks for that record in the file. If it cannot find it, the reference goes on the list. Each item links to the records that mention it.
Records you have excluded are left out of this check.
Open the list
The list opens on its own the first time a finished case has missing items. You can open it again from:
- The Needs attention card on the Overview. It says how many records are missing.
- The missing records figure on the Case files tab.
The 3 tabs
| Tab | What it holds |
|---|---|
| Outstanding | Records still missing |
| Located | Records you or the app matched to a file in the case |
| Dismissed | Records you chose to set aside, with a reason |
Work through the list
- Use Search references or the Type menu to narrow the list. Types include lab, imaging, consult, therapy, hospitalization and procedure. Ordered shows items that were ordered with no result on file.
- Open a provider group. Items are grouped by provider.
- Read the tags on each item. "Possible match found" means the app thinks a file in the case may be the record.
- For a possible match, answer Yes, this is it or Not a match.
- To set an item aside, use Dismiss as and pick a reason: not necessary, already resolved or not sure. Nothing is deleted. Use Restore to bring it back.
Request the records
- Press Request from provider on 1 item, or Request all from provider for the whole group.
- To request several, tick them and press Request selected.
The app opens your own email program with a drafted request. It does not send anything for you. If your email program does not open, a window lets you copy the text or open it in Outlook or Gmail.
Export or email the list
- Export downloads an Excel file. It has a summary sheet, a sheet with all references, and 1 sheet per status.
- Email me sends the list to your own email address only.
What it does not do
- It does not request records for you. You send the request.
- It only finds records that another record mentions. If nothing in the file refers to a visit, the app cannot know it happened.
