- Open the Q&A pane.
- Type your question in the box that says "Ask about this case".
- Press Enter to send. Press Shift and Enter for a new line.
You can also speak your question with the voice button.
The Ask a question button in the top bar is different. It is the help chat for using the app, not for your case.
Pick a mode
Press the mode button under the box. Each mode suits a different kind of question.
| Mode | What it does | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Clinical Synthesis | Reads the full record and forms a clinical answer, with a citation for every claim. It can also look up published studies on PubMed and cite them beside the record | Causation, aggravation, "what does this add up to?" |
| Evidence-Based Extraction | Finds the facts that answer your question and cites each one. States findings, not opinions | "Is there evidence of a prior shoulder injury?" |
| Extractive Mode | Gives the record's exact words only. Nothing added or summed up | "List every medication given in January 2024" |
Only Clinical Synthesis looks outside the case records. The other 2 modes use this case's records only.
Turn on Concise for a short, direct answer instead of a full write-up.
Check the answer
Each answer has numbered citations. The cited text shows under the answer. Click a citation to open the page.
Before you see an answer, each sentence is checked against the pages it cites. False statements and made-up details, such as a wrong dose or date, are corrected. Still check any fact you plan to quote. See check any fact against its source page.
Ask good questions
- Ask about 1 thing at a time. "When was the first MRI of the left knee?" works better than a long list.
- Name the time. "Before March 3, 2024" or "in the 6 months after the fall".
- Ask for dates and pages. "List each fall, with the date and the page."
- Ask for exact words when wording matters. Use Extractive Mode.
Keep and reuse answers
| Action | How |
|---|---|
| Copy an answer | Press the copy button on the answer |
| Add 1 answer to a report | Press the add-to-report button on the answer, then pick the report |
| Add several answers | Tick each answer, or press Select all, then press Add to report |
| Start a fresh chat | Press New chat |
Past chats stay in the chat list, so you can go back to them.
What Q&A will not do
- It does not give legal advice or decide the case.
- It does not read records you have excluded. Excluded records are hidden from Q&A.
- It does not read DICOM images.
