What do people ask about VA disability cases?
These are the questions people ask most about VA disability cases in Medrecords AI. In short, the app reads the C-file against the parts of a VA claim and cites every page. It quotes a doctor's wording exactly. It never decides service connection, gives no rating, and sets no deadline.

Does Medrecords AI decide service connection?
No. It reads the records against 3 parts: a current diagnosis, an event in service, and a doctor's link between them. It shows what the records say on each part, with citations. Whether service connection is met is the VA's finding.
Can it tell me the rating percentage?
No. The app does not give ratings or guess what the VA will award. The Veteran Disability Record Review has a section called Prior Rating History. It reports what the file says about past ratings, nothing more.
How does it handle "at least as likely as not"?
It quotes the doctor's words exactly. It does not turn "possibly related" into "at least as likely as not", or the other way round. To find every opinion, search with Keywords and put the phrase in quotes. See track each claimed condition.
Does it know which conditions are presumptive under the PACT Act?
No. The app holds no list of presumptive conditions and does not check whether a veteran qualifies. You can pick Presumptive as the theory at setup. Then search the records for the place or substance of the exposure. The Record Review has an Exposure Evidence section that reports what the file says.
Can it work out an effective date?
No. It does not work out dates of entitlement. You can find the dates in the file yourself. Search for "intent to file", "claim" and "rating decision". Set Chronology Type to "Medical-Legal" so legal records stay in the list. Then read the dates in the timeline. See search your records.
Will it sort my C-file into STRs, exams and decisions?
Not on its own. There is no button for that. Use the date filters, the Facility and Provider filters, and keyword search to find each kind of record. Then flag them. See upload a C-file and find each kind of record.
Can it find missing service treatment records?
Partly. The missing records list shows records that other records mention but that are not in the file. It cannot know about care nothing in the file mentions. For years with no records, use the date filters and the timeline. See find missing service records and gaps.
Can my whole team work on 1 case?
Not today. Cases are private to the person who created them. Each person needs their own account. Never share a login. The owner can export the chronology and reports for the team. See export your work.
Is it HIPAA compliant?
Yes. Medrecords AI is HIPAA compliant and SOC 2. See security and HIPAA.
Who is it for?
It is for the people who prepare VA claims and the staff who help them. Read more about support for VA-accredited representatives.
Only VA-accredited attorneys, agents and Veterans Service Organizations may help prepare and present VA claims for a fee. Medrecords AI is a records tool for them and their staff.
Medrecords AI organizes and cites the records. Its output is not a medical or legal opinion and does not replace your expert.
