Which reports fit a VA disability claim?
On a Veteran Disability case, Medrecords AI pre-selects 2 reports: the Veteran Disability Record Review and the Causation Analysis. The Causation Analysis sets out what the records say about the link between a condition and service, for and against. Other reports are there when you need them. Each new report costs 100 credits.

The 2 default reports
Veteran Disability Record Review. This report reads the file against the parts of a VA claim. Its sections are:
- Current Diagnosed Disability
- In-Service Event, Injury or Illness
- Medical Link Between Them
- Continuity of Symptoms
- Prior Rating History
- Exposure Evidence
- Gaps and Missing Records
Causation Analysis. This report looks at the nexus question. The nexus is the link a doctor draws between the condition and service. Its sections are:
- The Question Presented
- Records Reviewed
- The Mechanism as Described
- Onset and Temporal Sequence
- Findings Consistent with the Claimed Mechanism
- Findings Inconsistent With It, or Pointing Elsewhere
- What the Records Do Not Say
- Provider Opinions on Causation
The last section gathers what each doctor said about the link. Read it next to the source pages. The report states what the records say. It does not decide service connection, and it gives no rating.

Use the same template for every veteran
You can copy a built-in template with Duplicate, or build 1 from up to 6 of your own past reports. Set it as your default for this report type and case type. The same template then works on every claimant's case. See set up report templates.
For more on how firms use these reports, see VA C-file review.
Only VA-accredited attorneys, agents and Veterans Service Organizations may help prepare and present VA claims for a fee. Medrecords AI is a records tool for them and their staff.
Medrecords AI organizes and cites the records. Its output is not a medical or legal opinion and does not replace your expert.
