Is there a birth injury case type?

No. Run a birth injury file as Medical Malpractice. Its default reports cover the standard of care and causation. The steps in this playbook apply.

Does Medrecords AI read EHR audit trails?

No. Medrecords AI does not read EHR audit trails or metadata. An audit trail is the system log of who opened or changed the chart, and when. Request it from the provider on its own, and have it reviewed apart from the app. Our guide on EHR audit trails explains what to ask for.

How do I compare the chart with an audit trail?

Do it by hand, with the audit trail you reviewed apart from the app.

  1. Open the Timeline tab and pick Date by date.
  2. Step to the key date. Note the time on each entry.
  3. Compare each time with the audit trail.
  4. Where they differ, add a note on the timeline entry. Notes print in the chronology PDF and exports.

See add flags, highlights and notes.

How do I find late entries and addenda?

Use search in Keywords mode. Put phrases in quotes, such as "late entry". Try "addendum", "amended" and "corrected" too. Each keyword gets its own colour. Click a hit to see the source page. See search your records.

Will the app say the care fell below the standard?

No. Medrecords AI states what the records show, with a citation for each fact. If you ask Q&A about the standard of care, the answer names its source and the documented facts. Causation is a separate question, answered only where the records support it. Whether the care fell below the standard is for your expert.

Can it draft an affidavit of merit?

Yes, as a draft. The Affidavit of Merit and the Certificate of Merit Support Memo are both report types. The expert reviews and signs the affidavit. Counsel checks the wording for the forum. See write the standard of care, causation and merit reports.

Does it tell me merit filing rules or deadlines?

No. Medrecords AI gives no filing rules or deadlines for any state. Check those with counsel.

Can I change the focus after I confirm?

No. The focus, key dates, body parts and case details lock when you confirm. The 1 exception is when you add records to a finished case. The confirm window opens again then. See set up a medical malpractice case.

Can my expert open the case?

No. Each case belongs to the person who made it, and there is no case sharing today. Each person needs their own account. Send your expert the exports and reports instead. See export your work.

Medrecords AI organizes and cites the records. Its output is not a medical or legal opinion and does not replace your expert.
