Which report should you write for each mass tort claimant?

For most mass tort claimants in Medrecords AI, start with the 3 pre-selected reports: Record Review, Causation Analysis and Damages Summary. Add others when you need them. Each claimant has their own case, so you write each report once per claimant. Use the same template on every case so the reports line up.

The pre-selected reports

ReportUse it for
Record ReviewA full, cited review of 1 claimant's records
Causation AnalysisTiming and the facts for and against the claimed link
Damages SummaryThe injuries, treatment and billed charges

The mass tort Record Review has these sections:

  • Records Reviewed
  • Product Identification, with identifiers quoted exactly
  • Exposure
  • Device History
  • Injury
  • Other Documented Causes
  • Prescribers and Implanters
  • What the Records Do Not Contain

The Causation Analysis includes Onset and Temporal Sequence, Findings Inconsistent With It, or Pointing Elsewhere, and Provider Opinions on Causation.

Other reports you can add

  • Pre-existing Condition Analysis, for health problems before first use.
  • Deposition Preparation Summary, for providers and the contradictions between them.
  • Demand Package Narrative, a plain story of the injury and care.
  • Life Care Plan, for future care as the records document it.
  • Rebuttal, to answer the other side's report. Upload their document first. Reading it costs 1 credit per page on top of the report.
  • Missing Records & Gap Analysis, a written list of what is missing. It comes with an Excel download.
  • Case Strengths & Weaknesses, where the record helps and where it is exposed.

Pick by stage

  1. At intake, run the Record Review. It shows whether proof of use and the injury are on file.
  2. If records are missing, add the Missing Records & Gap Analysis.
  3. Before an expert reads the file, run the Causation Analysis.
  4. When you value the claim, run the Damages Summary.

Reuse 1 template on every claimant

There is no batch report. You create each report on its own case. To keep them the same:

  1. Open Settings, then Report templates.
  2. Find the built-in template and press Duplicate.
  3. Change the sections you need. Set Applies to for this case type.
  4. Press Save template, then Use as default.

When you create that report type on a mass tort case, your template now shows first. You can still pick another. See set up report templates.
