Find Pitocin changes, decelerations and Apgars with page cites
Medrecords AI does not pull out Pitocin changes, decelerations or Apgar scores on its own. You find them with 3 tools: search, the timeline and Q&A. Each tool points you to the source page. You then check every fact on that page before you rely on it. This page gives you words to search and questions to ask.

Step 1: search for the key words
Search reads the text of every page. It is free.
| To find | Mode | What to type |
|---|---|---|
| Pitocin changes | Keywords | Pitocin, oxytocin |
| Heart rate drops | Exact | decel |
| Late decelerations | Exact | late decel |
| Apgar scores | Keywords | Apgar |
| Cord gas results | Keywords | "cord gas", pH |
| Decision for a C-section | Exact | decision to |
| Resuscitation | Keywords | resuscitation, intubated |
Why the mode matters:
- Exact finds parts of words. "decel" also finds "decels" and "deceleration". Nurses often write the short form.
- Keywords finds whole words and their common forms. Put a phrase in quotes, such as "cord gas", to keep the words together.
- With 2 or more keywords, choose Any to see pages with at least 1 of them.
See search your records.
Step 2: read the labor hour by hour
- Open the Timeline.
- Press Filters and set the dates to the day of labor and the day of birth.
- Pick Date by date and press Next date to step through.
- Click an entry to see the time, the provider and the verbatim quote.
- Use Group by source file to see the mother's and baby's records apart.
The key date has a pin on the month strip. If you made the delivery date the key date, you can find it fast.
Step 3: ask questions in Q&A
- Open the case and go to the Q&A pane.
- Type your question in the box that says "Ask about this case".
- Read the answer and its numbered page citations.
The Ask a question button at the top of the app is the help chat. It cannot see your case, so use the Q&A pane instead.
On a Medical Malpractice case, the assistant looks at the key event, the care hour by hour around it, and whether results were noticed and acted on.
Copy these questions and change the details to fit your case:
- List every Pitocin start, rate change and stop during labor, with the time and the page.
- List every time a nurse or doctor wrote about a deceleration, with the time and the page.
- When did staff call the doctor or midwife during labor? Quote each note.
- What were the baby's Apgar scores, and at what minutes?
- List the cord gas results exactly as written, with the page.
- When was the decision for a C-section made, and when did the baby deliver?
- What did the NICU admission note say about the baby's condition?
Ask 1 thing at a time. Short questions give clearer answers.
Step 4: check every fact
Q&A answers are checked against the cited pages before you see them. They can still be wrong when a scan is poor or a note is handwritten.
- Click the citation to open the source page.
- Read the time and the value on the page itself.
- Press Page text to see the text the app read, and compare it with the page image.
- Flag the page or add a note so you can find it again.
The app does not read the tracing line on a fetal monitor strip. Anything it says about a strip comes from text, such as a nurse's note. Your expert reads the strip.
See check any fact against its source page.
Step 5: keep what you found
- Add a note to each key entry, such as "Pitocin raised" or "late decel".
- Notes print beside the entry in the chronology PDF and in exports.
- Use these notes later when you pick your reports.

Medrecords AI organizes and cites the records. Its output is not a medical or legal opinion and does not replace your expert.
